Our English Assistant: Srunika

This year, the pupils in the European Sections in Year 9 and 10 were lucky to be accompanied throughout the year by Srunika, our English language assistant from India! She was with them every lesson to help them improve their English skills, give them special projects to do: from Victorian Inventions to help with their video presentations. Her contract ran from October to the end of April and she was a big help during our lessons. We will miss you Srunika!

Our day out.....part 3

At the end of the afternoon all the pupils from the different schools came together to share a musical moment with our Year Ten pupil, Charlotte M who accompanied us on her guitar. Everyone had a great time singing along to one of our favourite English singers of the moment: Bruno Mars!

After the singing, all the pupils went to the Lycée's cafeteria to see the grand final of the debating competition involving the year Ten pupils along with the year 11 and 12 pupils from Verneuil.

The final was a debate in English that lasted about 10 minutes. Here is a photo of the winning team.

This final was followed by one last musical moment but this time led by the older pupils, one of whom was really great on the electric guitar. This time we all sang along to Pharrell Williams' "Happy". And we were all very happy after such an interesting day.

Our day out... part 2

Once we were better acquainted with our counterparts, we were able to start preparing for the biggest job of the day - putting on our play: David Copperfield. During the year, the pupils had read Charles Dickens' book and then written short sketches for 3 of the chapters to be acted out along with the other pupils in the two other high schools. Our sketches were performed in front of the pupils from the Lycée.

Our Day Out at the Lycée Portes de Normandie

On May 19th the Year Nine members of the European Section went to spend the day with the other European Sections from Breteuil and Verneuil.
The day was an "All English Day".
